I
think we can all agree that libraries are amazing. Free access to books, movies, magazines,
music, databases—what’s not to love?
Well, waiting for your holds isn’t exactly exhilarating. Perhaps you’re one of the 246 people waiting
for a copy of Divergent by Veronica
Roth. Did you know that the library has
a new subscription service that gives access to movies, TV shows, music and
audiobooks without any waiting? All three
audiobooks from the Divergent series are available as free downloads to anyone
with a Worcester Public Library Card!
Hoopla is like Netflix for libraries—only it provides more
than just streaming movies. All you need
is a valid Worcester Public Library Card and you can stream movies and listen
to books and music using a computer, tablet or smartphone. Simply visit the library’s webpage, click on
“Digital Downloads” and “Hoopla” to get started. You will need to create a log on. To use the service from your mobile device
download the Hoopla app from iTunes or Google Play.
