The hero is a young teenager who takes up burglary to care for his siblings and keep the family together after their mother is murdered and their father abandons them. After breaking into a house, he finds a vital clue that might help solve his mother's murder and maybe prevent another murder. How can he let the police know without giving away his secret?

This Joanna Brady novel has two murders that compete for attention from Joanna and her crew. It's somewhat intense: one involves mafia money and the other serial killing and sociopathy. It's a page turner, but the ending left me feeling a little disappointed. Some important threads were left hanging...
